This program prepares students for the challenging and rewarding career of providing clerical and administrative support for a hospital unit or health care institution. Students develop office management and business communication skills for the health care environment, and acquire a thorough understanding and ability to interpret and relay medical terminology, medical conditions, pharmacology, surgical procedures, and medical tests.
Graduate employment opportunities may include entry-level positions in hospitals, doctors’ offices, long-term care facilities, agencies, walk-in agencies/clinics, and other community facilities. This certificate is available entirely through distance education.
