Applied Learning Disability Studies Graduate Certificate
|
Students across Canada are pursuing this graduate certificate program designed to examine and apply new knowledge in the field of education for support professionals interested in working with students with learning disabilities. This unique program provides a combined concentration in learning strategies and assistive technology and engages students by creating opportunities to apply and assess learning techniques.
This program will also explore the scope of learning disabilities and the impact on students living with learning disabilities, non-verbal learning disabilities, and co-existing conditions; including mental health conditions and other disorders. The context of study also includes research and reflection on legal and professional standards pertaining to support professionals in academic settings.
Students will learn and apply valuable skills in communication strategies for the purpose of gathering and retaining documentation of private information, and will explore strategies for building interpersonal relationships with those they are supporting.
Current and prospective educators, educational assistants, and academic support services providers, at all educational levels, will benefit from the activities, professional discussions, and special resources offered in the Applied Learning Disabilities Studies program.
