Registration Information

What is a prerequisite?
A prerequisite is a course (or other qualification) required for entry into another course. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all prerequisites are met before registering.

Entry Requirements
You may enroll in a Part-Time Studies course at Canadore College if you are 19 years of age or older or if you have earned an Ontario Secondary School Diploma/Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.

Registration Deadlines
The registration deadline for OntarioLearn courses is one week from the course start date. For all other distance education courses, the registration deadline is two weeks from the course start date.

Full Refunds
Full refunds are provided if a course is cancelled by the college.

Partial Refunds
Partial refunds are provided if a student withdraws from a course prior to the refund deadline. A partial refund is a refund less an administrative fee.

Refund Deadlines
The refund deadline for OntarioLearn courses is two weeks from the course start date at 12 noon. For all other distance education courses, the refund deadline is three weeks from the course start date by 4:00 p.m.

After the refund deadline, course fees are neither refundable nor transferable.

Refund Requests
Refunds requests must be received in writing or by email to Part-Time Studies prior to the refund deadline. After the refund deadline, course fees are neither refundable nor transferable.

Withdrawal Requests
Prior to the last week, students can request to withdraw from a course. You will receive a final grade of “WD” (withdrawn) which will not affect your grade point average (GPA). Withdrawal request must be received in writing or by email to Part-Time Studies prior to the withdrawal deadline.

Late Registrations
It is recommended that you register at least one week before the course start date. This allows time for your registration to be processed and to order textbooks. Students who register after the course start date are responsible for catching up on any missed material. Refund and withdrawal deadlines are not extended due to late registration.
