This course will introduce students to the concepts of recreation and leisure and examine the significance of recreation to personal well-being and quality of life. Students will learn professional standards, qualifications, and skills required to succeed in a recreation career. Course themes include: philosophy of recreation, history of recreation, personal organizational skills, career opportunities, overview of recreation associations and health and wellness. Students will gain the knowledge of a variety of recreation and leisure sectors.
